ABOUT THE AZTECS YOUTH FOOTBALL PROGRAM...
The South Gate Youth Football (and Cheer) organization is a "family-oriented" program here in the city of South Gate for the past 35 years. Originally organized and brought back into the city by the former and late City Councilman/Mayor, HENRY C. GONZALEZ. Starting this new season, we are now members of the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EAST YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE of AAU (SCEYFL-AAU). We are a NON-PROFIT youth sport organization serving the South Gate community since 1990. We are also an "ALL VOLUNTEER-RUN" organization comprised of an "Executive Council" (Executive Board of Directors) along with our "Team Leadership" of Head Coaches and Team Athletic Directors (AD).

THIS NEW SEASON WE WILL INTRODUCE NEW HEAD COACHES FOR OUR FOOTBALL AND CHEER TEAMS; dedicated to the sport of football (and cheerleading), as we move forward in our new conference. Our current HEAD COACH appointments so far are as follows, as we continue to interview other candidates we will introduce other coaches for 2024...

SEEKING REPLACEMENT OF 8U HEAD COACH
On June 26, 2024, the South Gate Youth Football Organization made a unnanimous decision to remove its 8U Head Football Coach due to issues of ineligible players and failure to support the rules of SGYF and AAU. A negative campaign was immediately dispensed by this former head coach to circumvent the truth behind his dismissal along with several disrespectful emails sent to the SGYF President. We notified the Conference leadership of the SCEYFL-AAU and the City of South Gate to inform them of our actions to dismiss this member from our organization, whereby we obtained 100% support to our organization moving forward, including recommendations to file legal action following receipt of falsified state ID's. 

It is our position to rebuild upon the 8U football team with 100% support from the SCEYFL-AAU Conference. We currently seek adult leadership to fill the important role of head coach and team management. In the meantime, this team has been temporarily assigned to our Vice-President of Football, Coach Andy Albidrez. 

Today, as we prepare to begin our official first day of practice on Monday-July 22, 2024, we continue to take in registration for our 8U football team. If anyone is interested in helping this team develop and to act as a head coach, assistant coach or team manager, we would be interested in talking with you.

Organized in 1989, established in 1990, the South Gate Youth Football Program began with a mission to strive for excellence in all that we do...from its leadership, to the coaches and the players and cheerleaders...for 35 years ours has been a journey of representing the South Gate community and of developing student-athletes through hard work, commitment & dedication, teamwork & sportsmanship and of course, for the love of this great sport! We play by the rules, we don't teach or preach,"winning at all costs" and through it all we stay committed to our goal in the development of a youth sport program that provides the fundamental nurturing experiences that build a strong foundation for future success in sports and in life!
