WHAT IS "CORE" LEADERSHIP? ...
The "core" leadership of the South Gate Youth Football & Cheer Organization is also referred to as the "Executive Board" which consists of Officers in key leadership roles. Committment at this level is focused on the whole and complete program of youth football and cheerleading; from beginning of the year to the end of the year. But mostly it is a team of leaders working together to achieve for everyone! TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK!

Individuals on this team of core leaders understand the commitment and the dedication to ensure the success of all teams and this organization. We continue to look for adult volunteers to fill key positions on this governing body, so we are complete in meeting all the needs of this organization.

The South Gate Youth Football organization was founded, organized and led by former South Gate Mayor/Councilman, Henry C. Gonzalez; 1989-1994. Because of his true commitment to youth sports and all high school sports in the City of South Gate, he became known as Mr. South Gate, a real champion leader in our community. The leadership was then assigned to Lora Gonzalez, where she has remained as the President/CEO since 1995. Her goal primarily continues to lead by the example Mr. Gonzalez gave to his community and this organization. She strives to improve upon the processes, the structure and the recruitment of adult volunteers that continue to prove the South Gate Aztec Youth Football & Cheer organization is number one!
